Your support funds emergency call‑outs, veterinary‑supported care, joey crèche facilities, sanctuary compounds, and habitat regeneration projects across our 87‑acre bush property, protecting both vulnerable animals and the ecosystems they depend on.

24hr Rescue

Pouchie.z Kangaroo Sanctuary & Wildlife Rescue runs a 24/7 wildlife rescue hotline dedicated to promptly assisting any injured, orphaned, or at‑risk Australian native animal. When a call comes in, emergency support, on‑site assessment, and transport are provided, ensuring animals receive rapid triage and care either in the field or at the sanctuary. This vital service addresses significant gaps in regional and rural rescue coverage, giving vulnerable wildlife a lifeline for survival and a pathway to rehabilitation or permanent sanctuary where needed.

Rehabilitation

Once rescued, injured or orphaned native animals receive comprehensive triage and rehabilitation, and specialised care tailored to each animal’s condition.

For macropod joeys, this rehabilitation includes intensive nutrition support, medical treatment, and calm, naturalistic housing that supports both physical healing and emotional recovery from trauma.

Our goal is to stabilise and rehabilitate each animal so it can either return safely to its natural habitat or, in the case of unreleasable macropods, transition into our enriched sanctuary environment, where they can express natural behaviours and live out their lives free from harm in a secure, lifelong compound.

Pouchie.z Kangaroo Sanctuary & Wildlife Rescue is committed to providing a permanent sanctuary for unreleasable, injured and orphaned macropods—kangaroo and wallaby joeys—who cannot safely return to the wild. Through our lifelong sanctuary pledge, unreleasable macropods live in purpose‑built sanctuary compounds within our 87‑acre property, in secure, naturally enriched habitats that support their health, gentle social bonds, and natural behaviours. Here, each macropod is offered the opportunity to live out a full, stable life in a protected environment, building a deep sense of safety and connection with their mob and . This lifelong sanctuary model reflects our unwavering commitment to macropod welfare and environmental conservation, ensuring every kangaroo or wallaby entrusted to us has a flourishing future.
